Walk for food

You are invited!

Amistad Canada and Feed the Hungry San Miguel team up to Run/Walk for Food. Feed the Hungry has been invited to participate in the first Virtual Walk/Run Marathon by Scotia Bank of Toronto this October.  The event will take place virtually at each participant’s time and on any day in October. All they need to do is register, pick a day to walk/run, and upload a selfie of their walk/run and a photo of their route.

A team of five Walkers/Runners has been formed to meet the minimum required to participate. The team is made up by Paola Juarez from Feed the Hungry’s communications team, who is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico; Michelle Wedderburn, originally from Toronto; Angela Allen from Peterborough; and Michael Coburn of Toronto.

There is still room for more participants!  You can join the team or show your support by visiting the team’s page: https://bit.ly/TEAMFtH-AmistadCanadaVirtualWalk .  Together, they hope to raise $50,000USD, which will be used to purchase food to feed more than 4,000 struggling families in the San Miguel de Allende municipality, in support of the “Feed the Families Program.” Since March, the program has provided nearly 5 MILLION MEALS to families affected by school closures and job losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

US tax payers can make a difference by donating or by joining the walk/run team through the US Fundraiser portal here:  https://bit.ly/FtHSMAfamiliesWALK

PayPal users can click here for their support: http://bit.ly/PayPalFtHWalkRun

Mexican tax payers can show their support by sending an email to contact@feethehungrysma.org specifying the amount they wish to donate. Banking information will be forwarded with specific instructions.
