Many school children have a difficult time staying alert in class because they are hungry, but also due to dehydration. Our Student Hydration Program provides clean water for children in the classrooms and for food preparation in the school kitchens. Each month, purified water in large refillable jugs is delivered for nearly 2,500 children in 19 communities.

The Extended Alimentation Program aims to eradicate malnutrition within entire families by providing bags of food to households that present extreme cases of impoverishment and malnutrition. Currently, there are 45 families in 5 communities benefiting from the program, which also includes home visits where we can observe living conditions.

Clavellinas, also known as Coyotes Clavellinas, is one of the most populated communities within the San Miguel de Allende municipality, with 1,425 inhabitants in 296 homes. Our school kitchen there, opened in 2007, serves meals every school day to 300 preschool and elementary school students.
