We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of a new member of its Board of Trustees: Mrs. Jonna Stratton.
Jonna first became involved with Feed the Hungry San Miguel in 2011, when she answered an ad recruiting for drivers. From then on, she has been instrumental in the operations of Feed the Hungry San Miguel. As Volunteer Coordinator, she recruits, places, and orients volunteers who sort, weigh, pack, and label shipments of the required food items for each individual school kitchen, every week during the school year. She also works with Chip Swab – Feed the Hungry’s Driver Coordinator, who has to round up 34 drivers every Tuesday morning – to ensure that all the food gets delivered. She also coordinates volunteer support in Feed the Hungry San Miguel events and organizes volunteers to assemble direct mail campaign materials and Three Kings Day gifts for the children – the highlight of her volunteer commitment. Her group of holiday helpers package gifts of school supplies for thousands of children, and she personally joins them in the delivery as much as possible.
Jonna can be reached directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in becoming a volunteer.
Jonna and her husband Raymond, along with close friends of theirs, recently became Kitchen Angels for Casa Hogar Mexiquito Boys’ Orphanage. This group modality of Kitchen Angels is ideal for families or groups of friends who wish to sponsor a kitchen.
Jonna’s other passion is animals. She has helped manage many sterilization clinics which provide free spay and neuter for hundreds of animals, mostly in the countryside. She likes being hands-on and in-touch with the beneficiaries of her compassion—whether they be kids, canines, or cats.
